Motorola™ sponsored the MOTODEV Widget Developer Challenge to promote their new WebUI framework. Design On Purpose decided to leverage Motorola's API with some real-time webservices and produced a currency converting widget.

The Currency Converter is a valuable widget that allows users to keep up-to-date with the world's changing economies. It allows those in a mobile world to have fast access to the information they need most. It is simple enough for the casual traveler and powerful enough for the jetsetters of the world. The Currency Converter intuitively brings valuable exchange rate information literally to the user's fingertips. 

We at Design on Purpose thought it was a compelling entry and were happy to see the judges agree. We won two first place prizes in the following categories:

• Best Widget in Transportation/Mapping/Travel
• Best Local Content for North America

The WebUI was a great platform to develop for-- since it used standard web technologies, it allowed us to develop an interesting application without having to spend hours learning the framework. Design on Purpose looks forward to working with WebUI in the future!
